RVAA Mourns the Passing of SCVA’s Ann Davenport

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 18, 2026– The Regional Volleyball Association Assembly (RVAA) is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of longtime Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA) Commissioner Ann Davenport. Ann’s dedication and commitment to the SCVA and the broader volleyball community left an indelible mark on the sport.

"Ann Davenport was a beacon of dedication for the volleyball community," said RVAA Chair Steve Mueth. "Her commitment to the SCVA was truly exceptional. Her loss is felt across the entire regional association network, and we send our deepest condolences to her family and the SCVA."

Davenport was honored with the Doc Booth Commissioner’s Award in 2000, presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding service and leadership to a Regional Volleyball Association, resulting in significant regional growth and impactful contributions to the national volleyball landscape.

Ann was a tireless advocate for volleyball and was instrumental in the growth and success of the SCVA's programs. Her passion for volleyball and her unwavering belief in the power of sport to shape young lives will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

The RVAA encourages members of the community to visit the official SCVA website at https://www.scvavolleyball.org/ for details on memorial services and opportunities to honor Ann's legacy.
